Planning Tips for 2026 Turkey (Türkiye) School Holidays
🏛️ MEB sets one national calendar
The Ministry of National Education publishes a single calendar for all public schools: mid-September start, a two-week semester break in February, and summer from mid-June.
❄️ The February semester break is the ski rush
The two-week ara tatil in February sends Uludağ, Palandöken and Erciyes into their busiest fortnight — book months ahead or pick the following week.
🕌 Religious holidays extend breaks
Ramazan Bayramı and Kurban Bayramı create 9+ day gaps in term time that shift ~11 days earlier each year, restructuring the term rhythm annually.
🏖️ Summer is ~10 weeks
Mid-June to early-September summer drives the Aegean and Mediterranean coastal season; late September after schools reopen is the value window.
